When we first walked into 111 East Main Street in Madison, Indiana, we knew two things immediately: the building had great bones, and it was going to take everything we had to bring it back. The three-story brick structure dates to the mid-1800s, when it operated as G.P. Mellen's Queensware shop. A general store selling pottery, glassware, and household goods to Ohio River trade traffic. For over a century and a half, these walls have watched Main Street evolve.
